This double page spread has been taken from Kerrang magazine. In this double page spread the dominant black backgroud allows the white text to stand out and it also allows the red in the speach marks, the news banner and the 'NEW MCR TRACKS" to be noticed instead of just the text being read.
The black and white photos presents a stark contrast and a purer image. Because the image is stark it forces you to see the image rather than the colour. Also because the image is black and white it portrays more emotion as shown in the picture on the bottom right of the page.
