I took the images of my main model for my front cover and double page spread in the studio using professional lighting and a good quality camera. The studio consisted of fully adjustable lighting umberallas which give a good quality photograph but can also create unwanted shadows. The lighting works automatically with the flash of the camera.
I took the images from contents page in natural environments such as at gigs in small venues. This was harder to get a good quality image as bright lights were used in the arenas. I then learnt that this can add effect to the image as it gives the reader a sense of realism. On two of my images there was two many shadows so I edited the images in photoshop making them black and white. I also learnt taking photographs from different angles adds to the effect for example taking a high angle shot makes the band seem more powerful.
I also used the clone stamp tool in photoshop to remove spots on my main model. This tool copies the colour you desire, for example on the cheeck of the model and then you can cover any spots, freckles, blemishes with this paticular colour.
In photoshop I also learnt about the use of layers for example if I wanted text on a paticular shape I make the layer of the text above the layer of the shape so that the text fits on top of the shape instead and not underneath.
This is my main image for my front cover before I used many tools such as the lassoo tool, red eye tool and background eraser to make it worthy of a front cover and to make it look professional.
