what have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? (Naithan Gaskell)

Through the process of making my product, i have used a large variety of technologies that have helped to produce the product and improve specific parts. Firstly, i used a Nikon DSLR camera to take my photos that will be in my magazine. This is a high quality camera that has ment i have good quality images. However, if i was to use a camera with less the quality of phots, the images i would have would not be as good, and as clear as the ones i have due to the Nikon camera. Secondly, i took the main image of my magazine in the studiuo at my college. The studio is full of adustable lights that allow me to create light from different angles with a large range of light intensities that can mean i can create shadows to one side of my models stance. Without the use of the studio, i could not have got the quality images i have got. It has also ment that due to the white background in the studio, it makes it easier to edit the entire photo when i come to editing in photoshop.

This image is of the college studio where i took the majority of my photos. The technology such as the lighting has helped my main images as clear as possible and create a high quality image you would s
ee in all ready existing magazines.

To edit and create the pages required, i used the photoshop program to do this. Photoshop allows me to do almost anything to my images. From erasing spots and loose hairs on my model, to turning the hole photo to black and white. To do this, i used the Clone stamp tool which copies a colour you desire, and allows you to cover blemashes or hairs.

Photoshop also allowed me to make my main image on my front cover black and white by the use of the image adustmant. This gave my image an interesting effect and makes my image stand out more, as the original image blended to well with my fonts and did not stand out to the audience.

Photoshop allowed my raw image on the left, to turn black and white and larger. The aluminous yellow shoes creates an eye catching feature on the image, which draws the readers attension to my main image. I have recently changed the end image to be in colour and make my image more clear to the audience. I have used Segoe UI as my main font due toi the clearness of the font aswell as making the magazine look modern and crisp. I have used several techniques to emphasise cvertain stories and articles using the stroke technique on the phot
oshop porogram. This is symply to attract the audience towards the magazine, and particular headings themselves.

Aswell as been able to edit photos on the program, it also allowed me to write and use text to build up my product. I could edit the size of the fonts to any size i wanted, and lots of styles were available. However, i visited a online font website to get various fonts that would stand out to my audience rather than keeping all the fonts the same style and thereofre do not stand out, but these fonts i collected keep the magazine interesting.

I have also used powerpoint to create templates for my texts and page layouts before inserting them into photoshop. This saved me time when producing the product as i new roughly where pieces of work would be going.
