In order to produce a professional music magazine front page I research lots of existing pages for typical conventions used within magazine production. I realised a signifcant feature of a magzine front page is the layout as this will attract people to buy the magazine.
For my research I looked at existing music magazine front pages manually and also newspaper front pages online.
The most signifacant layout features I found from existing music magazines is the convention of a main image in the centre of the page with special features displayed at the top and bottom of the page and also extra features displayed attractively around the main image.

However I found that for some music magazine front pages a more tight layout is used which fits with the loud, perhaps crazy genre of music. Kerrang clearly contrasts to NME due to the two magazines appealing to different audiences of music fans. Evidently many more images are used in Kerrang compared to NME and the font and colour scheme is more striking.
