Who would be the audience of your media product?

We expect our main audience to be teenage girls and young women. This is because our media product comes under the genre Rom-Com. Which we think is more likely to be watched by the female population. Females appear to be more interested in 'love stories', which often are very cliché or unrealistic. Women find films like this, good to watch, as they often feel as if they can relate to the storyline, or they would love a scenario like that, to happen to them. Another reason would be the actors chosen to play the characters, if the male character is someone who is perceived as very attractive and a highly regarded actor such as Johnny Depp or Tom Cruise then they are more likely to watch it. We have tried to do this, as we have chosen people that would be considered attractive, but fit the characters they are portraying. There is also a slight chance that males, will come to see the film, possibly due the choice of actress or if they are taking their girlfriends or date to see it.
