Opening shots

Before any video is shown there is a few seconds of audio music to give the audience a sense of the right mood. As i explained before, i chose a romantic direction to start my project introducing the couple that the film evolves around to help establish connection and plot quickly. I think the opening few shots are effective and efficient in doing this because of the framing of them and how they smoothly dissolve in. Below are some examples of opening shots.

I also liked the focus pull i used at the beginning of my project with the grass in the foreground and the couple in the background, it is similar to the technique Alfred Hitchcock has used in more than one of his films.

I think how i filmed the opening sequence helps highlight the change in atmosphere after the first phone call, as well as emphasise the shock upon discovering its the girlfriend on the DVD.
