I think I attracted and addressed my audience in many ways. On my front cover I attracted the audience by adding details of competitions as it allows them to get actively involved and gives them the potential of winning something, similarly to many real media products. This also addresses the audience as it is clearly directed at them, making it more personal and making them more likely to but as it's there specifically for them. My strap line across the top also attracts the reader as it claims to be the 'UK's best music magazine', this is an impressive thing to say and instantly makes the reader think that if this is the case, then it must be good, making them want to read it and thus buy it. I think the list if artists which I put on the left hand side of my magazine also attracts my audience as it's a wide variation of artists within the same genre, so it's likely there will be some artists on that list which a person who likes this genre will be a fan of and as they're in the magazine, make them want to read it more. Also, if they are fans of the artist it can be seen as more personal to them therefore seeming as though they've been addressed. I also made sure my model was making direct eye contact with the camera in order to give the effect he was looking at the reader on my front cover, therefore both attracting and addressing the reader as it's a direct link.
My contents page attracts readers a it's all aimed at music fans, therefore attracting them as they understand it and know about it. As well as using a large background image of my main model which takes up most of the space, making it much more friendly and revealing as he dominates the page, addressing the audience. Again, he is making eye contact to draw in and connect with the audience.
In my double page spread I addressed the audience by purposely using informal language, as well as adding humour to give the character a real personality that would connect with my target audience of older teenagers and young adults, a technique often used in magazines such as NME. Also, in my double page spread I included a 'Behind The Scenes' section, which gives the reader a more detailed look into the artist and makes them feel a much more personal link. This attracts the audience as they'll want to read it but also addresses fans as it's something especially for them which they will appreciate most.
Throughout all my magazine I've used a bright red colour scheme which is very imposing and aggressive and suits the genre of rock, so it attracts and addresses my audience as they're rock fans and it suits them.
