Evaluation - How did you attract/address your audience?

I attracted my audience by using colours and pictures that would get their attention.
For the front cover, I used the colour yellow, black, white and grey. These all contrast each other in the sense that they work well together and none of them over power another colour. I used the colour grey for the background because it's a neutral colour and works well underneath any other colour. The yellow, black and white I picked for the front cover would all grab the audience's attentions if seen on a shelf amongst other products.
The picture I used for the front cover creates a confident feel towards the magazine. The models tie in the image also matches the colour of the text that I've used. The confident feel comes from the expression that the model has. By using this expression it almost draws more attention the magazine than would be if she was to do another expression.
I also picked a catchy name for my magazine which I feel the audience can relate to. I picked the name "XTC" which is short and snappy and gives a versatile feel to the magazine.
Also on the front cover, I used certain techniques that I'd found other magazines used, such as "FREE!" on the front. By advertising this on front, it immediately draws attention to the magazine and gets the audience to read the magazine, even if only for more information. I used these techniques throughout my magazine also, for example, the lowdown section of my double page spread.
I addressed my audience by using language that they could relate and familiarise with. By doing this, it creates a friendship between the reader and author and that means that the reader doesn't feel belittled as sometimes comes across in other magazines.
Overall, I have used a range of techniques to attract/address the audience such as bright colours and slogans for the front cover and I believe each one I used does either attract or address the audience in a way that gets their attention and makes them want to read the magazine.
