How Did You Attract/Address Your Audience?
We attract our audience with the musical intro stated in question 1, we had a highly energetic and pulsing intro followed by short, snappy, straight to the point headlines read by a confident newsreader. We aimed to attract a wide audience with different interests by having stories ranging from entertainment, the student protests, very slight amount of “gossip”, and a story about trouble makers starting off with a seemingly stupid story but actually with a serious tone towards the end
We addressed our audience with a slight personal feel from the welcome by having. A welcome/good morning introduction, to help the listeners to connect with the news reader as his voice would be the one guiding them through the show. This feel carries on when we start with our C.F.E. story which starts with our newsreader introducing the piece and the outside broadcast interview, much like a narration between the scenes of play as he then links the in studio interview with the outside broadcast interview. We carry on this idea of a guide of the news even at the end as when the cow-tipping story starts to turn to a more serious tone we end with both the lone reporter and our newsreader agreeing that hurting or abusing animals for your own enjoyment is wrong, as if trying to impart some form of wisdom or message onto the audience.
