From the preliminary task (on the left) to the final product (on the right), many techniques have been used and developed in a much more professional way. However, a few varios things have been kept a constant. The technologies have remained the same, i still used the same Nikon camera to take my images inside the college studio and edited using the photoshop program. On my final product, i have used many techniques that have been used in order to attract my targer audience and make my product stand out from the rest of the market. I have developed on all the techniques we learnt during the preliminary task to make my product the best it can be, but also new ones that have my the magazine stand out even more. For example, i can now use Photoshop very well, using many of the devices available on the program, with very little, if any help in using them. Whereas in the preliminary task, been able to work the program was very difficult without having to ask my teacher every 10 seconds how do i do this etc. where now i can use many editing techniques by my self with little thought. I have also laernt that when using the camera, the quality of the image is important, and how you take the picture is even more esential. For my front cover, i had to hold the camera portrait, this is so that the photo can be edited and used better in photoshop as a front cover, where as other images could be shop landscape, and would fit into the magazine well.
On my prelim, some text is covering my main image and i have laerned that the main image should not be covered as its the focus of the front cover to attracted my audience. As you can see from my final product, i have took this concept into consideration and made the image more clear. I have a large artists names across the middle of the body which goes against what i just said, but it complements the page and indicates just who the image is of i.e "Joey Adams".
As you can see from the images above, the finished contenst page on the right is a much more professional contents page with attention to little details. For example the amount of articles in the prelim (to the left) is very low and the final product has a lot of information and extracts. It also contains competitions and offers which most magazines have.
