Front Cover Photograph

Above is the model that I chose to be on the front cover of my music magazine. I specifically chose someone with a dark skin tone as my model because the type of music that my magazine is about (rap music) is mainly dominated by artists who look like this. This is why I adjusted the original photograph to make it darker. I also did this to make my model stand out on my magazine because the background of the magazine is a pale colour. Furthermore, I dressed my model in clothing that is suitable for what a rap artist would wear (baggy shirt and a flat brim cap). Some magazines that I researched had more than one picture on the front cover. However, because the artist on the front of my magazine has such a big personality, I only opted for the one picture. My artist comes across quite arrogant and big headed in his interview on the double page spread and I wanted to emphasise this by making him dominate my front cover and making him fold his arms.
