From my research, I found that most magazines have a consistent colour scheme that run throughout the front cover, double page spread and contents page. The colour scheme of my magazine is red and black. The photograph on the right page shows the musical artist making eye contact with the reader. This is important so the reader can feel more involved with the article.
I made sure that none of the text overlaps the pages so that it is clear and easy to read. The quote "I need drama in my life to keep making music" grabs the reader's attention and makes them want to read the entire article to see what this controversial rapper has been up to recently. I tried to make the design of the magazine look like a tabloid newspaper so it would appeal more to an urban audience. In his interview with Urban magazine I decided that General Sparkz would come across brash, which reflects what a lot of rappers are perceived as in music magazines. The quote "The only reason some people are hatin' on me is 'cos they ain't me" amplifies this and makes him seem like he has a big ego. The face of the musical artist takes up an enire page, with his shoulder overlapping the pages. I purposely did this to reflect his arrogance and his big personality.

Finally, I added page numbers in the bottom corners of the magazine. I put white text on a red background so that the page number would be able to be read on all different background images. I kept the font "Impact" which I have used throughout my magazine.
