Today we researched how radio stations present themselves using other types of media such as their websites and tv advertisments etc.

We found that Radio1 and similar radio stations including Rock FM and Real Radio used this alternative media to project an informal and welcoming feel. This was done through use of vibrant colours, images of happy, inviting people and a range of items that are appealing to their audience. This generally comes across in their shows as this is what the audience now expects.

Whereas Stations that broadcast more serious shows including news, like to present themselves in a formal fashion through keeping the colours broad and simple, using larger amounts of text, displaying items that are less light hearted and showing images of objects to do with the subject of the item but which the audience can't exactly relate to.
