Plus: This media can really pull in people's imaginations, which is a great way to get people to intellectually interact with your product, increasing the likelihood that you'll be top-of-mind when they want to buy it.
Minus: Unlike television, which people give their full attention to as a form of entertainment, radio is often background noise heard while people are driving or at work. Unless your ad is really good and very memorable, you'll have a hard time getting noticed.
How to use successfully: Make sure your jingle and phone number are very memorable because people will likely not be able to reach for a pen and paper while they're driving

Taking this into account, we've learned that we'll need to make our radio advertisment very attention grabbing, more so than if it were print or video, as radio often does not have the full attention of the listener. We should also put emphasis on the details we'd like the listeners to remember by using techniques like jingles and rhymes to make it memorable.

An example of this is:

This advert is successful as it uses repetition of the phone number they want the listener to remember in a tune/jingle that is upbeat and catchy. They use a rhyme to describe what they're advertising and use a voice that differs from the type of voice the listener is used to hearing in adverts, making it stand out above the rest.
