Vibe magazine is the magazine I decided to use as a style model, as it focuses on the same genre of music as mine- being R&B, and has particular conventions I knew I would be using for my piece, e.g. a model with attitude and a certain amount of sex appeal, and fonts that would be suitable and found interesting by the same target audience.
I also like fashion so I will mix the themes of music with style. On this front cover, the model has been styled in a way that teenagers would respond to in a positive and a role model kind of way. The clothes are quite prevocative, but not to the point where the age and in some cases gender will change for their target audience. The model used is also an iconic R&B singer which then widens the audience altogether, from being teenagers to anybody who is a fan of Beyonce.
The colour schemes used are quite dark, being black and red with a white beackground. This gives a wide range to the connotations as red symbolises sex and heat whereas white most commonly symbolises innocence, which shows a split personality of the model.
The title of the magazine is 'Vibe' which is a word commonly used by R&B singers in their music so creates even more music theme to the overall magazine.
