Double page spread research and planning

This double page spread is very simple but yet very effective. There is very little text displayed on the left hand page on top of the main image. This could be effective is the image is more visible and it doesn't bore the reader with un-needed over used text. The magazine just tells the reader who the image is of and where it is, that's all that needs to be said for such a famous band.

Also the text on the right hand page uses a very simple layout for the text in very very destinctive columns also keeping with the house style of black, white and red. The text is made very easy to read and to look at so the reader is more likely to read it. I think the lack of text used on the other page is done to make the main text on the second page more effective and more enjoyable for the reader.

The quote used at the top of the page on the right is in a red text to make it stand out to the reader so they read the quote first. This is effective because the quote will make the reader want to read the rest of the text. Also a quote is used at the bottom of the first colum in a box, this is also made to stand out by the use of the box to intise the reader into reading on. Also black text is used at the top of the page consisting of a website, a name ''Rory Lamden''. The writer does this so that if the reader enjoys the piece they can find out more about the writer and more pieces of work he has done. Also the page number is displayed in the bottom right corner also in keeping with the consistant house style of the magazine such as the font and the black colour. Furthermore a second image is used on the right page to make the two pages more interesting for the reader and more appealing.
