Evaluation - Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

In the preliminary task we learnt the basics to a magazine, these included how the front cover and contents page should look. However, rather than choosing and immediately editing the pictures like in my preliminary, in my actual magazine I did more research to ensure that my magazine looked the best way it could. I researched how I wanted my magazine to look in the end and different magazines that I could take inspiration from. In the preliminary task, we took pictures and used them pictures, whether they looked good or not. In my magazine, if I took a set of pictures that didn't work well or didn't look right, I'd take more. Also, as I learnt how to use Adobe photoshop, I also applied these new techniques to my magazine. In the prelim, we didn't necessarily edit the pictures, we just cropped them, however, in my magazine I used the magic wand tool and the different vector masks to change the colour and opacity of my pictures.
Overall, from the preliminary task and to my magazine, I've learnt how to apply the techniques that I know to ensure the magazine looks its best. I also know that if something isn't right first time, redo it rather than just use them and settle for second best.
