Evaluation - How does your media product represent particular social groups?

In the beginning it was hard to pick a particular social group in which I would aim my media product at. However, after once starting on my magazine, it became clear that the social group my media product would be aimed at was teenagers to early twenties.
My media product is aimed at this particular social group because of the bright colours and the pictures that appear within my magazine. The colours I chose to appear are bright, attractive and versatile, yet I believe they're more likely to appeal to teenagers and people in their twenties, rather than anyone older. I chose colours that were versatile in the sense that, they're for any gender and don't particular relate to just one. I also chose the name "XTC" which I feel would appeal to a wider range of audience rather than just teenagers but I believe that they would be the main customer. The pictures' I used within my magazine were of teenagers also. However, as I wanted them to be portrayed as older than teenagers, I had to portray them differently. I did this by changing the clothes they wore to pieces of clothing that you would see on someone in their twenties. However, most of the pictures in my magazine are close ups and you can't really see the clothes the model has on but I chose models that looked older than their actual age.
The pose the model is doing on the front helps portray her to be older than her age because it almost creates a confident and cocky feel to it. The other models that I used were ones that I feel the audience could relate to. I wanted my other models to be subtle rock rather than heavy rock and I believe I did this. I intended to do it by using models that were different yet similar to each other, for example, having bright hair and brightly decorated makeup.
