Throughout the process of constructing this product, I have learnt new skills involving technologies. For example, the operation of a digital camera was something that I only learned recently. However, it was not just enough knowing how to operate the camera, I also learned about lighting techniques, framing, and direction of model. In one instance, I stood the model further away from the wall so he would not cast a shadow, thus making the photograph easier to edit once in photoshop.
Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
I feel that my Photoshop skills have been greatly improved, as although I had some basic knowledge of the programme, I now know some more advanced editing tools that I can use and can manipulate photographs and text successfully. My communication skills have also been improved. I was able to direct my models and tell them how I wanted them to pose and stand. Whereas, at the beginning of the preliminary task I found it difficult to explain to the model how I wanted them to be positioned. If I had to do a similar task in the future, I would know how to communicate to a model.
