My magazine uses, develops and challenges the forms and conventions of real media products because all my pages are similar to the music magazines out there today. By this I mean that the style of my magazine and the artists featured are ones that you would see in other music magazines. I also did this by paying attention to the little details within rock magazines and conveyed this by doing the same to my magazine.
I developed the form of real media products by using a font style that was similar to the magazines out on the market today. I also used colours that were bright and would catch peoples attentions if it was on a shelf in a typical supermarket. Also, I chose a model that suited the part and the genre of my magazine well, similar to the magazines out there today. I also payed a lot of attention to the finer details within magazines. For example, the page numbers on the bottom of the double page spread and the "Lowdown" part of the magazine.
I challenged forms and conventions of real media products by producing a magazine that would ideally be seen out in the market today, amongst the others like NME and Kerrang. I also challenged the forms and conventions by using the ideas off other magazine but displayed them in a different way within my magazine. For example, I imitated the layout of the NME contents page but used my own pictures and gave the contents page it's own feel ensuring that it would work well with the other pages in my magazine.
