Using the appropriate music on the opening scene of a film is very important, it can set the atmosphere of a film before any pictures are shown so it is vital i choose the correct music. I think the song 'crosses' by jose gonzailes works with my project and plot perfectly, it creates a laid back ominous atmosphere because it implies to the audience that something bad is going to happen, the first line of the song is 'dont you know that im not going to be around to guide you'. Considering the romantic 'loved -up' couple the audience see in the opening minute will eventually be drawn apart i think it is appropriate. As much as i would love to use this song copyrighting may be a problem, below is an email i have sent to jose gonzailes asking permission to use his song 'crosses' in my AS coursework for non-profitable or advertisabul reasons.
