Double page spread research, second

This double page spread of Florence and the machine used in the magazine ''The Fly'' is a displayed in a very expansive method compared to the first double page spread we analysed. It is also unusual for a double page spread because its read from top to bottom rather than left to right.

The double page uses three main images of the singer, totally seperated from each other so each one stands out to the reader and makes the double page appealing to look at to make the reader interested. The images used on the double page show the singer has an attitude as she is not smiling and looking quite angry and powerful. The first image displayed on the top page shows the singer looking very mystical which realtes to the text on top of it ''Inside the mystical mind of Florence and the Machine.'' Also the house style of the font used on top of the image also creates a mysterious effect to the reader, this will also make them intrigued to find out more about the singer.

As the the three main images are diveded into three seperate boxes there is a third box used bang in the middle of the two pages. The magazine uses a clever pun in this box ''Go with the Flo.'' This is effective as it shows the magazine rates the singer and believes she needs to be listened to but also uses the beginging of her name for a well used phrase, this is effective as it is very catchy. The text used in this box also keeps in tone with the house style of black, white and red and is displayed in a mysterious manner in the layout of the word ''FLO''. Also strap lines are used in the bottom page in keeping with the housetyle with a black and red strap lines with white text. The strap lines are enforced to stand out to the reader so they read the quote's first which will engage them into the rest of the text.
